The Herington Public Library currently has information available about the 2020 United State Census.
Every 10 years, a census is conducted to obtain an accurate count of residents. These numbers affect how many seats each state house in the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as determining the need for roads, hospitals and funding for many other community, state and national needs.
The U.S. Census Bureau is currently seeking census takers.
All applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and have a valid Social Security number and email address. Males born after Dec. 31. 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service System or have a qualifying exemption.
Visit 2020census.gov/jobs to find out more information or to apply. Potential applicants may also call 1-855-562-2020.
Our next meeting will be February 3 @ 7 pm.
